This can be worked in a simpler way. The area of the figure is just the area of a square of sides 14 cm. The bottom figures can be split into four and two of them can be moved up to form a square. so area is 14X14 = 196 sq cm.
Poorly set question. required the student to assume that the 2 fillet is 7cm long from the vertical tangent of the circle. in pratical this picture can be drawn with the fillet 6.9cm to 7.1cm.
