2/5 of a box of assorted buttons are white and 1/6 of the remainder are blue. The rest of the buttons are yellow and green in the ratio of 3 : 2. If there are 28 green buttons, how many buttons are yellow?
Solution
(Green) 2 units ----- 28
1 unit ----- 28 divided by 2 = 14
(Yellow) 3 units ----- 3 x 14 = 42
Answer: There are 42 yellow buttons.
